Deckbuilding and Scaling Guide
Deckbuilding and Scaling
Section titled “Deckbuilding and Scaling”A deck is a system, not a collection of high-quality cards. Its cards compete for draw and energy, and each addition changes the probability of finding every other card.
The Five Jobs
Section titled “The Five Jobs”Successful decks usually cover immediate damage, immediate defense, consistency, scaling, and coverage. One card or relic may cover several jobs, but the deck still needs credible answers to common fight shapes.
Build Around Packages
Section titled “Build Around Packages”Evaluate each package by its enabler, payoff, and bridge. A bridge is the piece that keeps the deck functional while the engine is incomplete.
Use a Pick Checklist
Section titled “Use a Pick Checklist”Ask whether a card solves a current weakness, is playable with normal energy, improves an existing package, and is better than increasing the draw frequency of cards already owned.
Test the Deck Against Turns
Section titled “Test the Deck Against Turns”Test turn one, the bad shuffle, the large hit, the crowded fight, and the long fight. A deck is ready when those turns have answers.
